What Are Alumni & Aftercare Services?

Think of aftercare as your safety net—something to catch you when life throws its inevitable curveballs. It’s an ongoing support system that helps maintain the progress you’ve worked so hard for.

Recovery is a lifelong journey. Our aftercare and outpatient services are about more than staying sober or managing symptoms—they’re about helping you build a life that feels fulfilling, balanced, and true to who you are.

Through community support, continued therapeutic services, optional transitional housing, and holistic healing, we give you the tools to navigate life’s challenges while staying grounded in your recovery.

Our Alumni & Aftercare Services at Monima Wellness

We’ve designed our alumni and aftercare program to feel as natural and supportive as catching up with an old friend.

Here’s what you can expect:

1. Alumni Support Groups

Just because formal treatment is over doesn’t mean you have to do it alone. Our alumni and aftercare support groups offer a space to share experiences, hear from others, and remind yourself that you’re part of a community that truly understands.

Sometimes, just knowing there are people who “get it” makes all the difference. These groups provide a judgment-free space to talk about the ups and downs, swap advice, and stay motivated in your healing journey.

2. Continued Access to Holistic Healing

We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to recovery, which also applies to aftercare and outpatient services. Many of our alumni continue using the holistic therapies that helped them during treatment, including:

  • Yoga and mindfulness for stress relief and emotional balance
  • Acupuncture to help with anxiety, sleep, and overall well-being
  • Somatic therapy to continue processing trauma in a healthy way

These therapies aren’t just about healing past wounds—they’re about helping you feel stronger, calmer, and more in tune with yourself every day.

3. Personalized Aftercare Planning

Life after treatment looks different for everyone. Maybe you’re starting a new job, rebuilding relationships, or figuring out what’s next. Whatever your path, we help create a personalized aftercare plan tailored to your needs. This might include:

  • Referrals to outpatient services or psychiatric care
  • Continued therapeutic support to continue working through challenges
  • Guidance in achieving career, education, or personal goals

Monima Wellness is here to help you build a meaningful and fulfilling future you’re excited to continue building upon.

4. Community and Social Events

Recovery is more than structure, therapy, and coping skills—it’s also about having fun, reconnecting with life, and creating new, positive experiences. Our alumni program hosts wellness workshops, guest speaker events, and outdoor activities like hiking and beach days.

Imagine a day of fresh air, like-minded women, and a chance to reset your mind. Whether it’s a quiet meditation retreat or a fun group activity, these events help you stay engaged in your recovery while enjoying the journey.

5. Mentorship Opportunities

Sometimes, the best way to strengthen your recovery or get through a difficult time is by helping someone else. Our alumni program allows women to support those just starting their healing journey. It’s a way to give back, stay connected, and reinforce the lessons you’ve learned along the way.

For those hesitant to step into this role, it’s important to remember that being a mentor doesn’t mean you have all the answers—it’s about being a steady, understanding presence for someone who needs it. Many of our alumni say this experience has deepened their healing just as much as it has helped others.

6. Ongoing Access to Monima Wellness Resources

Even after you leave our program, you’re still part of the Monima Wellness family. That means continued access to:

  • Online forums and private support networks
  • Educational resources on mental health, trauma, and wellness
  • Exclusive alumni events and check-ins to help you stay on track

We want you to know that you always have a place to turn, whether for advice, encouragement, or just a reminder that you’re not alone.

Why Aftercare is Essential for Long-Term Recovery

Leaving treatment is a big transition. Without support, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or unsure how to maintain your progress. Research shows that ongoing care significantly improves long-term recovery success[1]—we see this firsthand in our alumni community.

Aftercare is about having a solid foundation when life gets tough. It helps you:

  • Stay emotionally resilient under challenging moments
  • Keep up with healthy habits and coping strategies
  • Maintain connections with people who genuinely understand
  • Continue growing in confidence, independence, and self-awareness

Think of it like training for a marathon. You don’t stop running just because you made it past the first few miles—you keep training, pushing forward, and building endurance for the road ahead.
